- Post-surgery advice | Clinique Dentaire Zini
Post-surgery advice Whether you have had a simple tooth extraction, an impacted tooth removal or a more complex surgical procedure, here are some tips to follow at home that will help you to reduce or even avoid postoperative complications. In addition to this, you need to know more about it. 1- Bite lightly into cotton compresses placed in your mouth, maintaining constant pressure for about 45 minutes. If you find, after removing the compresses, that the bleeding is still profuse, you can put more (or a wet and wrung out tea bag) and bite into them for another 45 minutes, still maintaining constant pressure. Slight bleeding is normal after surgery. Even if your saliva is tinged with blood, don't worry. 2- Avoid rinsing your mouth or spitting. Also, try to keep your head higher than the rest of your body when you lie down. It helps decrease swelling and bleeding. 3- Following surgery, it is normal to feel unwell for 24 to 48 hours. The degree varies from person to person and depending on the type of surgery. To alleviate this discomfort, you must take the prescribed pain relievers, at least on the first day. If you don't feel the need to continue the next day, you can take a less potent pain reliever, but avoid drugs that contain aspirin. If you are prescribed antibiotics, you should take all the tablets to fight the infection. In addition to this, you need to know more about it. 4- Surgery often causes swelling. To prevent or reduce swelling, it is recommended that you apply ice cubes wrapped in a wet towel as soon as possible after surgery: no more than 15 minutes per hour, however, and ONLY during the first few months. 24 hours, and do not let this prevent you from sleeping because sleep is essential for a rapid recovery. 5- It is possible that the movements of the jaw will be more or less painful following surgery. In some cases, this sensitivity can last from 7 to 10 days. In this case, avoid straining your muscles. Adjust your diet accordingly: soft and cold foods the first day and increasingly firm the following days. After 24 hours, if there is no more bleeding, rinse your mouth 5 to 6 times a day with salt water {1/4 tsp. in a glass of water). 6- Brush your teeth normally, being careful not to irritate the healing area. 7- Do not smoke for at least 24 hours to avoid slowing down the healing process and developing an infection. If the pain or bleeding persists beyond 24 hours, we invite you to make an appointment with a general dentist at Clinique Dentaire Zini.
- Fixed and removable prosthesis | Clinique Dentaire Zini
Crown Veneer Bridge Complete fixed and semi-fixed prosthesis Removable prosthesis Crown There are several reasons why the dentist may recommend a crown for you. A dental crown is considered to cover a dental implant, a broken or excessively filled tooth. It is also recommended following root canal treatment since devitalized teeth become more fragile without the supply of minerals by the blood circulation. Couronne Veneer In composite or porcelain, dental veneers make it possible in particular to improve the alignment of the teeth, the color and even the shape. Porcelain veneers are made in the laboratory and are therefore more durable than composite veneers. Facette Bridge A bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. It is advantageous when the 2 teeth adjacent to the missing tooth are already mortgaged by fillings. The bridge is also a good replacement option when there is not enough bone for implant placement. Pont Complete fixed and semi-fixed prosthesis This type of full denture replaces the teeth of an arch in a suitable way with increased stability using implants. With his skills in implantology and denturology, Dr Zini will be able to make you a comfortable prosthesis that stays in place. Prothèse complète fixe Removable prosthesis From partial to full dentures, you can count on our dentists to meet your needs. Prothèse amovible

- Gum treatment | Clinique Dentaire Zini
Bruxism Periodontitis Gum graft Bruxism Bruxism, more commonly known as teeth grinding, can create wear and tear, strain on the joint and facial muscles, migraines, and even limit opening. To limit these problems, it is possible to fabricate a custom bite plate that is worn overnight. It serves to absorb these forces applied during sleep and prevent the progression and deterioration of structures affected by bruxism. Bruxisme Periodontitis Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease. However, if left untreated, it can progress to periodontitis. Periodontitis occurs when biofilm (plaque) accumulates too long on the edges of the gums and turns into tartar. These bacteria grow under the gums and produce toxins that destroy the bone around the teeth. Periodontal pockets are then created and tartar continues to form inside them. It is therefore recommended to come and clean these pockets in depth to prevent periodontitis from progressing and teeth becoming mobile. It is necessary for patients who have received this treatment to maintain excellent dental hygiene and to perform cleanings regularly to ensure healing. Parodontite Gingival graft The attached gingiva protects the tooth from gingival loosening. When its height / amount is missing or thin, the risk of loosening is high and it is possible for the root of a tooth to become exposed. There are several causes related to loosening including gum disease, bad position of the teeth, bruxism (grinding), brushing too vigorously, etc. Gum grafting is recommended, among other things, to prevent tooth root exposure, sensitivity, tooth mobility / loss, root caries, etc. We take a small sample from the palate and then place it on the deficit site. Restorations (fillings) Root Canal Treatment Teeth whitening Restorations (fillings) Restorations help repair decayed, broken or damaged teeth. We offer composite restorations (white) as well as amalgam (grey). The composite has the advantage of being durable and having an appearance similar to a natural tooth. Restaurations Root Canal Treatment Root canal treatment is recommended when the nerve in a tooth is inflamed or infected. When the cavities are very deep, they sometimes reach the heart of the tooth. The goal of root canal treatments is to remove the inflamed nerve and disinfect the inner part of the tooth. It is done under local anesthesia and is essential in saving infected teeth. This treatment maximizes the chances of saving a tooth that would otherwise have had to be extracted. After root canal treatment, the tooth requires a crown to restore it and protect it against fractures. Traitement de canal Teeth whitening We offer 2 types of tooth whitening: - ZOOM (blue light) to the chair: Result in 1 appointment. - Bleaching at home using trays molded to your mouth. Results between 7 to 14 days. Please note that it is essential to consult the dentist before considering tooth whitening. Blanchiment
